Cathy is currently leading the research project “Towards Arts Based Inquiry: Centering the Knowledge and Experiences of Artists,” a study that focuses on exploring artists’ relationships with research and how they conceptualize their own processes of inquiry. Through conversations including non-interview, artistic, qualitative methods, with artists who integrate research into their practice, the study aims to understand their unique approaches to inquiry and inform the development of tools and resources to support them. The project also seeks to share insights to enhance understanding of how artist’s understandings contribute to, shape, and generate knowledge.
